‘Have to be careful’… Richarlison makes claim about Harry Kane ahead of England vs Brazil game
Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has been discussing his former teammate Harry Kane ahead of facing him on Saturday evening.
England are set to host Brazil at Wembley Stadium this weekend as they step up preparations for this summer’s Euros.
Richarlison will be hoping to start for Brazil after returning to action for Tottenham at Fulham last weekend.
The 26-year-old will be aiming to get one over his current Spurs teammate James Maddison, as well as former Tottenham star Harry Kane.
Richarlison has already warned Maddison that there is ‘no such thing as friendship’ on the pitch ahead of Saturday’s game.
Kane has been in exceptional form for Bayern Munich this season after leaving north London last summer. And Richarlison has admitted that Brazil will have to be ‘careful’ with Spurs’ all-time top goalscorer this weekend.
“I think everyone knows Harry Kane, right? I think we in the Brazil team have to be careful with him because he’s their team’s top scorer, he’s their captain, he’s the guy who organises their team,” the Spurs star said. “I played with him at Tottenham, I know his ability.”
Harry Kane injury update
Whether or not Kane features at Wembley on Saturday remains to be seen after the striker picked up an ankle injury last weekend.
Bayern confirmed earlier this week that the England skipper will link up with Gareth Southgate’s squad.
The former Tottenham star picked up the knock in Bayern’s 5-2 win over Darmstadt, where he netted and provided an assist.
