HARRY KANE ADMITS LEROY SANÉ HAS BEEN BAYERN MUNICH’S BEST PLAYER THIS SEASON
As previously reported, Leroy Sané has been in the form of his life since the start of the campaign. While Bayern Munich have underwhelmed since lifting the Meisterschale aloft in May, there has been a consistent ray of light on the right-hand side of Der Rekordmeister’s forward line.
With 16 goal contributions in 18 appearances so far this season, Sané has been at the forefront of everything positive for Bayern. However, this has also caught the attention of Europe’s elite clubs, as Liverpool, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have all expressed an interest in the 27-year-old.
Nevertheless, a move away from the club would only materialise in the summer, and there is still hope from the Bayern camp that Sané will extend his contract with the club that is set to expire in 2025. With Thomas Tuchel heaping praise on his in-form winger, it is little surprise that the record champions would like Sané to commit his future to the club.
However, it has not just been the Bayern boss who has poured admiration over Sané. Club captain Manuel Neuer commented after Saturday’s victory over Heidenheim: “The quality and skills – we know what a gem we have in the team. That’s why it’s not surprising to me. He is extremely important for our game because he can make the difference.”
As well as this, star signing and record-breaking striker Harry Kane would also remark on Sané’s importance to Der Rekordmeister: “He has great pace and outstanding power. Leroy is probably our best player so far this season. He is fantastic. Even today, when it was 2-2, I had the feeling that he was the player who would lift us up again. He is such an important player for us with his skills. Today he made two assists for me again, which is great. I hope we keep this connection.”
With Bayer Leverkusen continuing to outshine Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga table, Tuchel will need his side to step up if they are to topple Die Werkself. However, after the standards he has set this season, Sané should be the player that his peers look to for inspiration.
