GIRONA PROVIDE INJURY UPDATE ON BARCELONA LOANEE ERIC GARCÍA
High-flying Girona have this evening provided an update on the wellbeing of key defender Eric García.
Stopper García set pulses racing across the Girona fanbase this past weekend, in limping out of the club’s Copa del Rey downing of Elche.
The 22-year-old, who made the move to the Estadi Montilivi on loan from Barcelona during the summer, has established himself as a central figure in Michel’s overachieving squad thus far this term.
All told, García has featured from the off in 14 of Girona’s 19 La Liga outings to date.
In turn, the club’s supporters were no doubt awaiting an update on the wellbeing of their on-loan standout with bated breath.
And, as alluded to above, late this evening, precisely that has been forthcoming.
As per an official statement across the Girona website and social media platforms, García has suffered ‘a muscle injury in the biceps femoris brevis of his left leg’.
No return date has yet been set, but the former Manchester City man looks certain to miss his side’s weekend trip to Almería.
