Gary Neville claims Liverpool must “keep Manchester City honest” in the Premier League title race if they want to avoid having regrets at the end of the season.

The Reds moved back above the reigning champions with a 3-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday, brining a run of two Premier League matches without a win to an end.

However, Man City now have a game in hand on Jurgen Klopp’s side, while Arsenal are still ahead of them in the table on goal difference after their 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.

The title race is firmly out of Liverpool’s hands but the weekend’s result has kept them in the hunt for now, boosting confidence ahead of a pivotal Merseyside derby with Everton on Wednesday night.

While Liverpool are currently third favourites for the crown, former Manchester United defender Neville has insisted that the Reds must push Man City all the way this season to avoid any unwanted regrets.
