Four Barcelona stars considered ‘non-transferable’ in the summer

February 9, 2024

Given the current state of finances at Barcelona, it has been learned that the team’s transfer strategy, led by sporting director Deco, might change during the summer.

As a result of this alteration, it is expected that some of the players with higher salary cards and larger transfer value can be offloaded in order to make room for new players.

As for Deco, he has right away refuted the claim, saying, “We wouldn’t like (having to sell any players) the truth… If we have to make any moves in the squad, they must be moved to balance the squad and to be able to bring other players.”

Despite these comments, however, there is a growing sense of belief that some players who were once deemed untouchable within the first-team roster no longer hold the same value.

In the same context, Esport3 has affirmed that at this moment, there are only four players, namely, Gavi, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, and Ronald Araujo who are absolutely untouchable and non-transferable in the squad.

For what it is worth, Gavi and Pedri have always held prominence within the team, but the emergence of Yamal, especially this season, has renewed hope for Barcelona.

As reported before, Yamal happens to have the confidence of the entire Barcelona players, who are absolutely amazed by his performances this season.

Araujo, on the other hand, is one of Barcelona’s captains and it goes without saying that the management has big plans for him.

At the moment, the Uruguayan continues to be on the radar of Bayern Munich, but Barcelona are working on a contract renewal as they see him as a vital member of the team.

Who has lost his value?
Frenkie de Jong is no longer considered untouchable within the team. The Dutch international has the highest salary in the squad and is anticipating an even higher income next season. This is why the club is open to welcoming significant offers for him.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned outlet also claims that the doors are also not closed for players like Robert Lewandowski, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, or Ilkay Gundogan.

With Barcelona keen on moving back to the 1:1 rule in the summer, it will be important for Barcelona to sell players, but any offers of Gavi, Pedri, Yamal, and Araujo will be rejected even if this means bringing Kylian Mbappe to Barcelona.
