Ez Abde considering Real Betis switch

September 1, 2023

Barcelona’s 21-year-old Moroccan sensation Ez Abde is considering joining Real Betis before the end of the deadline day.

According to Helena Condis, La Liga club Real Betis are interested in acquiring the services of Ez Abde. The 21-year-old sensation is considering parting ways with Barcelona, and he could end up joining the Andalusian club before the transfer window shuts.

Over the last 48 hours, there has been a lot of talk about the future of the Moroccan international. Abde is unlikely to get much game time at Barcelona and is seriously considering parting ways. And, clubs from across Europe are interested in his services/

Abde is an exceptional talent who came through the ranks at Hercules CF before joining Barcelona B in the summer of 2021. In a few months’ time, he made it to the Catalan giants’ first team but post that, he was sent out on loan.

During his loan spell at CA Osasuna, he featured in a total of 34 matches but was on the pitch for less than 2,000 minutes. Abde ended up contributing towards eight goals.

After a decent loan spell, the 21-year-old has returned to his parent club. But he is still way down the pecking order despite Barcelona offloading a few of their forwards. So far in the 2023/24 season, he was been involved in two of the first three La Liga games and has been on the pitch for just 66 minutes.

His game time is unlikely to improve this season. And despite having a contract that runs until the summer of 2026, he could be on his way out before the end of the transfer deadline. While reports suggested that he could leave on another loan, that won’t be the case. His departure will be a straightforward sale.

While there is interest from a total of three clubs, the idea of joining Real Betis is the one that seduces Abde the most. The 21-year-old is interested in joining the Spanish club and even they are looking to bolster their attack.

Betis are keen on having him and even the player wants the move across La Liga. But it won’t be easy because a deal needs to be struck with Barcelona for a move to take place. And, given the quality of the player and the kind of potential he has, the Catalan giants won’t let him leave on the cheap.
