Edin Terzic backs Borussia Dortmund to bounce back from Bayern Munich humbling

April 2, 2023

Edin Terzic is confident that Borussia Dortmund can recover after suffering a damaging 4-2 defeat to Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of winning the Bundesliga title this season were dented on Saturday evening, as they suffered a 4-2 defeat away to Bayern Munich. The defeat saw the Black and Yellows slip to second place in the Bundesliga standings. And they are now two points behind the Bavarians, with eight games still to play before the end of the Bundesliga season.

Edin Terzic spoke about his disappointment over the team’s performance after the game. But he also backed his players to draw up the right conclusions and recover from this setback in the coming weeks.

“We have to draw the right conclusions from this,” Terzic told Sky Sport. “We’re only two points behind, it was our first defeat in 2023 (in the Bundesliga). We’re disappointed and angry. But we also had such setbacks in the first half of the season, I’m confident we will bounce back from this.”

While winning the Bundesliga title is no longer in Borussia Dortmund’s hands, there is still plenty of time left for them to overtake Bayern Munich. Both teams have tough matches coming up over the next few weeks, and the battle for the Bundesliga title could well go down to the wire.

Borussia Dortmund must recover quickly from this defeat to Bayern Munich, with their next game just three days away. Edin Terzic’s side will travel to Saxony on Wednesday to take on Marco Rose and RB Leipzig in the quarterfinals in the DFB-Pokal.

Borussia Dortmund will then go up against Union Berlin at home in the Bundesliga on Saturday. And getting back to back wins would certainly boost the confidence in the BVB camp heading into the business end of the season.
