€75 million-rated Barcelona pivot target openly criticizes his team
FC Barcelona continue to aspire to revamp and rebuild their current squad. They know the challenges that lie ahead and the harsh decisions that may need to be made in order to guarantee results. However, things are always easier said than done at FC Barcelona it seems.
For now, one of the primary obsessions for the Catalan giants remains the arrival of a pivot in the summer. As it stands, Barcelona are struggling this season due to the lack of a specialist in that specific position. However, one of their primary targets seems to once again be in the news for some discontent with his current club.
Joshua Kimmich, a 29-year-old midfielder for Bayern Munich, is among Barça’s dream signings as a pivot. Despite his overwhelmingly hefty price tag for La Blaugrana considering their financial restrictions, the Catalan club continues to dream of getting the German to dress up in garnet and blue for a club in Spain this time.
Moreover, given his current issues at Bayern, a departure may even come to fruition. Recently, this content with the Bavarian giants seems to have boiled over to a public point, where he actively criticized the squad’s ability to play together and do it well.
As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the recent 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen seems to have really pushed Kimmich a bit further away. His own words, after the game, were not at all gentle:
“In our game, overall, there’s little to see in terms of joy of playing, creativity, ease, and freedom. We really struggle to create opportunities. I don’t feel like we get along well, like we play well together.”
For one of the captains to say something so significant is striking, and it possibly reflects something beyond just the displays on the field. Bayern are possibly in danger of losing a hold of the Bundesliga, and for the Bavarians, something like that can be catastrophic for their season.
While nothing is set in stone, the relationship between Kimmich and Thomas Tuchel seems to be muddy at best. Reports of problems between them have circulated for quite some time, and issues with the management of the club have been reportedly bothering the German midfielder.
