€50 million striker admits he wants to play for Real Madrid

October 5, 2023

There is very little doubt that Real Madrid could do with another striker right now. The club did not really replace Karim Benzema in the summer. The loan signing of Joselu has proven to be a smart one though, as the Spaniard has impressed whenever given the chance, showing his ability to affect a game in the final third of the pitch already.

There are even calls for him to be a regular starter ahead of Rodrygo. The Brazilian winger has struggled for his best form since being moved more centrally in the 4-4-2 formation.

Joselu is the only real option that Real Madrid have at centre-forward right now though. They certainly need another striker at the very least.

One player who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid recently is Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord. The striker has been in sparkling form for the Dutch champions lately. And it looks like he would be very open to the idea of moving to the Spanish capital in the future.

€50 million striker admits he wants to play for Real Madrid

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Gimenez said to Elisa Lasso:

“I’d be delighted to play for Real Madrid. Of course. It’s a super big club…”

Gimenez has been brilliant for Feyenoord this season and has been scoring for fun. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists in 8 appearances in the ongoing campaign till now.

He is also a full international for the Mexico national team and is still just 22 years of age. Thus, it is not hard to understand why Real Madrid might potentially be interested in a player with his potential.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid do end up making a move for Gimenez in the future. It is believed that it would take a transfer fee around €50 million for Feyenoord to consider parting ways with him.
