Dzeko agrees to new contract with Inter

May 12, 2023

Edin Dzeko has reportedly agreed to sign a new short-term contract with Inter, extending his stay in the Lombardy capital.

The Bosnian veteran joined the Nerazzurri in August 2021 and has proven himself an important figure in Simone Inzaghi’s squad, being a reliable goalscorer and experienced winner, helping out on and off the pitch.

Dzeko again proved his quality to Inter in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash against rivals Milan, scoring the opening goal after eight minutes to give his team a crucial early advantage.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dzeko has agreed to sign a new one-year deal with Inter, tying him to the club until June 2024. His new contract will be worth €5m, lower than his current €6m net per season plus add-ons salary.

The Bosnian veteran had initially asked for a two-year deal, having also received offers from the MLS, but his desire to continue competing at a high level pushed him to accept a 12-month contract.
