Dortmund ready to test United’s resolve with significant January proposal for teenage starlet who won club award last season
Borussia Dortmund are ready to test Manchester United’s resolve with a significant bid for youth prospect Dan Gore, as per Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is fresh off the back of making his Premier League debut, which came in the closing stages of the Reds’ 3-2 triumph over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Gore replaced the experienced Christian Eriksen and added to a host of Carrington graduates that featured for United across the evening; Kobbie Mainoo, Willy Kambwala, Alejandro Garnacho, Hannibal Mejbri, Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay and Jonny Evans all did their bit to see out the much-needed three points at Old Trafford.
His maiden outing in the senior squad also came this term during a third-round Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace, in which he made a 29-minute cameo. At the end of the 2022/2023 campaign, Gore was named the Under-21s Player of the Year.
Dortmund readying Gore proposal
Alas, the Bundesliga outfit have seemingly been keeping tabs on Gore’s development and are now lining up an approach to try and tempt United into agreeing a permanent transfer. The midfielder’s contract does not expire until 2026, however, regular game-time in a top European club’s first-team – like Dortmund – would certainly be an attractive prospect to any young player.
