Done Deal: Immobile will fly out for Besiktas tonight

Ciro Immobile has agreed personal terms with Besiktas, who are believed to be paying Lazio circa €2-3m, and will fly out to Istanbul tonight.

Multiple sources note that he has signed the two-year contract and will be on Turkish soil tonight, though the team is currently in pre-season training in Maribor, Slovenia.

While Besiktas were adamant they didn’t want to pay any transfer fee, Sportitalia maintain Immobile took a pay cut to ensure they could use that €2-3m to keep Lazio content.

Besiktas chief Feyyaz Ucar flew to Rome for the negotiations over the last 24 hours and will fly back to Istanbul with Immobile in tow.

The striker had been pushing to leave the Stadio Olimpico this summer after months of tension with the local media and certain sections of the fanbase.

The 34-year-old Italy international had been with Lazio since leaving Sevilla in 2016 and scored 207 goals in 340 competitive matches for the club.
