DECLAN RICE INVOLVED IN ROW WITH ARSENAL CENTRE-BACK GABRIEL MAGALHAES DURING FULHAM DEFEAT
Arsenal suffered their fourth Premier League defeat of 2023-24 at the hands of Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, with the hosts coming from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring for the Gunners four minutes into the game, pouncing on the rebound after Bernd Leno parried Gabriel Martinelli’s shot into his path.
Fulham drew level through Raul Jimenez in the 29th minute, and a goal from Bobby Decordova-Reid in the 59th minute dealt a massive blow on the title chances of Arsenal.
The Gunners stars were below par for the second game running, and frustration boiled over shortly before the hosts took the lead, with Declan Rice involved in a row with his teammate Gabriel Magalhaes.
Gabriel headed a cross from Cordova-Reid over his own bar, and as highlighted on the Sky Sports commentary blog, there was an exchange between the Brazil international and Rice about something.
The duo were spotted in a heated exchange, pointing and shouting at each other, with Gabriel seen shouting at Rice in front of goalkeeper David Raya, before the midfielder argued back.
Fulham scored just shortly afterwards, and Arsenal found no way to get back as the hosts held on to secure all three points.
They return to action on January 7 when they take on Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup before resuming Premier League action against Crystal Palace on January 20, and the break in between those games could come in handy for the North Londoners.
Arsenal are currently fourth in the table, two points behind leaders Liverpool having played a game more, and they will be desperate to get things right when action resumes
