Crystal Palace set sights on Hull City ace, Aston Villa hold buy-back clause

March 22, 2024

Hull City winger Jaden Philogene has emerged on the radar of Crystal Palace

Hull City swooped to land the attacker last summer and he has since become one of their key players in the Championship.

Philogene, 22, has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Liam Rosenior’s side this season, chipping in with eight goals and six assists. Aston Villa have a buy-back clause on him if they find themselves in the same league as the Tigers in the future, as per HullLive.

Reports claim he has emerged on the radar of Crystal Palace ahead of the next transfer window.

Hull City ace eyed by Crystal Palace

It is inevitable that Philogene will be linked with a lot of other clubs between now and the end of the campaign.

He has been in great form for Hull in the second tier and is currently looking to help them gain promotion to the Premier League. They are sat in 7th position in the table and are three points outside the play-offs.

The England youth international is under contract at the MKM Stadium until June 2026, with the club holding an option to extend his stay on top of that.

Philogene was on the books at Aston Villa from 2018 until last year and played six competitive first-team matches for the Midlands outfit, as well as having loan spells away from Villa Park at Stoke City and Cardiff City to get some experience under his belt.

Crystal Palace could see the Londoner as someone to bolster their attacking options ahead of next term under OIiver Glasner. The Eagles signed Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze from the Football League from Reading and QPR respectively and are no strangers to luring talent from the lower leagues up to the top flight.
