Crisis averted: Nagelsmann says Joshua Kimmich’s knock was “no serious injury”
The sound you’re hearing right now is the collective sigh of relief of every Bayern fan in the world.
Every Bayern Munich fan’s heart was in their mouths when Germany captain and Bayern Munich stalwart Joshua Kimmich went down during Die Mannschaft’s clash with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nor did it prove to be just a scare, as Kimmich stayed on the ground, grimacing in pain before eventually getting substituted due to this injury.
With the likes of João Palhinha and Aleksandar Pavlović already injured, the Bavarian giants could hardly afford another long term injury to a midfielder. Fortunately, Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann was able to share some good news, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Nagelsmann says Joshua Kimmich took a knock to the capsule of his ankle, but hopefully nothing dramatic. No serious injury.
That is an immediate relief to Bayern fans, but questions do persist. How severe is the knock? How long will Kimmich have to rest, even if we know it will not be for long? Will he play for Germany again this international break or will he sit it out now? We will have to wait and see…
