COULD FRANCK RIBÉRY RETURN TO BAYERN MUNICH?

February 29, 2024

Franck Ribéry, who spent 12 seasons as a player at Bayern Munich, could imagine a return to the Rekordmeister.

That’s according to Kicker who report that Ribéry, currently a trainer at Italian side US Salernitana, could imagine a coaching position on Bayern’s campus in the future. The Frenchman is currently working on getting his coaching license and is toying with a position within Bayern Munich’s youth team.

Ribéry, who still lives in Munich and spends a lot of time in the city, is a crowd favourite and remains in contact with bosses at the Bundesliga club. During his time at Bayern, Ribéry won nine Bundesliga titles, six DFB Pokals, a Champions League and a Club World Cup, while being named Europe’s Footballer of the Year in 2013.

Franck Ribéry’s playing career

Ribéry joined Bayern Munich from Marseille in 2005 for €30m. During his time at the Rekordmeister, Ribéry played 425 games across all competitions, scoring 124 goals and creating a further 182. Upon leaving the Allianz Arena, the French attacker spent two years at ACF Fiorentina and a season at Salernitana before retiring.
