Chris Sutton makes ‘obvious’ Wolves vs Crystal Palace prediction
Wolverhampton Wanderers are back in Premier League action on Tuesday night as they take on Crystal Palace at Molineux.
Both teams have eased their relegation worries in recent weeks. Wolves are 14th, six points clear of the drop zone with six matches of the season remaining. Palace are another three points better off in 12th place.
Successive wins over Chelsea and Brentford had put top-flight safety in sight for Wolves before progress was dented with a 2-1 defeat at relegation-battlers Leicester, where Julen Lopetegui’s side had taken an early lead. Palace, meanwhile, have been boosted by the return of former West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson as manager, claiming three successive victories before a goalless draw at Everton last time out.
Former Aston Villa and Birmingham City striker Chris Sutton has made his prediction for the Wolves vs Palace game, and reckons the points will be shared in a 1-1 draw. Sutton told BBC Sport: “Crystal Palace are still unbeaten under Roy Hodgson but they didn’t really carry a goal threat in Saturday’s draw with Everton.
“From Roy’s point of view, the job he was brought in for was to make sure Palace stayed up and it is as good as done. They are not mathematically safe but they are nine points clear of the relegation zone with six games to play so I think they have got enough points in the bag already.
“Wolves still need another win, or maybe two, but they are hardly on the edge either. The obvious result to go for here is 1-1, because I can’t see there being loads of goals and both sides would probably be delighted with a draw.”
