Chelsea ponder shock Jadon Sancho swap deal with star set for Man Utd exit
Jadon Sancho has endured a miserable time of things at Old Trafford since Erik ten Hag’s arrival at the club and Chelsea could potentially make a late swoop for the Manchester United misfit
Chelsea could offer Jadon Sancho a late Manchester United escape with a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling.
Former Borussia Dortmund star Sancho looks to have little future at Old Trafford going forwards. A very public falling out with Erik ten Hag saw him return to Germany last season.
And while Sancho is now back in contention, he was surprisingly left out of the Red Devils’ squad for their late 2-1 defeat to Brighton Italian side Juventus have been linked with a move for the winger but it appears that he now has a chance to stay in the Premier League.
Various reports have suggested that Chelsea are interested in moving for Sancho and are exploring a potential deal. The terms of any move to Stamford Bridge are still unknown but the Blues are attempting to make a swoop more affordable.
Mail Online suggest that Chelsea need to move on at least six players over the final week of the window to make a move for Sancho feasible. Two contenders for exits are Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell, with both potentially part of a swap deal should Chelsea make a move for Sancho.
Both players have fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and have effectively been told by new boss Enzo Maresca that they would be better served leaving the club. Speaking last week, the Italian said: “I try to be honest.
“I can repeat again if it’s not clear: I spoke with Raheem before the City game, I said he is going to struggle to get minutes with us and this is the reason why he is out of the squad.
“With Chilly, I said he is a lovely guy, but he is going to struggle because of his position. He is going to struggle. If you define this as brutal, it’s up to you to decide. For me, it’s not brutal, it’s just honest.”
