Chelsea ‘in talks’ over starlet as details of Bundesliga visit emerge ahead of transfer decision
Omari Hutchinson is a wanted man this summer following the 20-year-old’s impressive loan spell at Ipswich Town
Stuttgart are making a strong push to secure Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson on loan, according to the Mirror.
The competition for the 20-year-old Jamaican international is heating up, with Chelsea soon to decide whether to retain, loan or sell the former Arsenal academy prodigy – a decision that may rest on their search for a new manager.
The incoming Chelsea manager may want input on Hutchinson’s future after his impressive stint at Ipswich Town last season, where he netted 10 goals and provided five assists, helping the Tractor Boys secure promotion.
Ipswich are keen to have Hutchinson back at Portman Road, but their chances depend on the future of Chelsea target Kieran McKenna. Ipswich Town’s CEO Mark Ashton is leading the charge to secure a new contract for McKenna, who is also being linked with Brighton and Manchester United.
Stuttgart are currently in pole position to sign Hutchinson though, having already held successful discussions, while reports from Germany suggest he attended their final Bundesliga match – a 4-0 thrashing of Borussia Monchengladbach – to get a sense of Sebastian Hoeness’ vision.
Borussia Monchengladbach have also expressed interest, as have Dutch powerhouses Ajax and Feyenoord, all awaiting clarity on his future. Hutchinson, who has been inundated with calls from Europe, has since thanked Ipswich for the best season of his career, hinting at a potential departure.
“I want to reflect on how special this year has been for me,” he said. “Since arriving at the club you have all made me feel welcome and loved. Thanks to my amazing teammates who l now call brothers, helped me from the first day I entered that changing room.
