Chelsea ‘agree’ personal terms with £35m PL star; Kane deal allows Spurs ‘strong comeback’ for Serie A man

August 12, 2023

Chelsea have agreed personal terms with a Premier League star ahead of a potential £35m move, while Tottenham are hoping the money from selling Harry Kane can help them land a Serie A defender…

CHELSEA CLOSE IN ON PREMIER LEAGUE STAR
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Michael Olise as they look to speed up their recruitment ahead of the transfer deadline, according to reports.

The Blues have been linked with numerous midfielders this week with Mauricio Pochettino side closing in on potential deals for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

Olise, who Roy Hodgson confirmed recently will be out for a “considerable period” of time because of an injury picked up on France Under-21 duty, has been on their radar all summer with The Times claiming yesterday that Chelsea are ‘aiming to complete a deal’ for the former Reading man.

The Frenchman, who joined Crystal Palace for £8.37m from Reading in 2021, has a reported £35m release clause in his contract at Selhurst Park and it seems only a matter of time before Chelsea trigger it.

‘Transfer expert’ Rudy Galetti has revealed that Olise has “verbally agreed” personal terms with Chelsea and it is now down to the two clubs to agree a fee.

Galetti tweeted: “#Chelsea are also working to sign Michael #Olise. During the talks with #CrystalPalace for the move – on loan – of Lewis Hall, #CFC started discussions for the player. Personal terms verbally agreed: now it’s up to clubs.”

TOTTENHAM SPENDING KANE MONEY
Spurs plan on spending some of their Harry Kane money on another centre-back this summer, according to reports.

The England international was in Germany on Friday to seal his move to Bayern Munich in a deal that could rise to £120 million

Tottenham’s record goalscorer landed in Munich on Friday night for a medical ahead of his transfer to the Bundesliga giants.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou had revealed earlier in the day that the move was “imminent” after a breakthrough in negotiations between the clubs was reached on Wednesday night.

It left the ball in Kane’s court and he decided on Thursday to leave his boyhood club for Bayern, who will pay an initial £100m with add-ons potentially taking the deal up to an overall fee of £120m.

And that money is likely to be reinvested in the current squad with Italian publication La Stampa insisting that Tottenham will now make a ‘strong comeback’ for Torino defender Perr Schuurs.

It is said that Spurs will ‘certainly’ have no problem affording a deal for the former Netherlands Under-21 international and Tottenham are boosted by Liverpool and Crystal Palace dropping out of the race to sign him.

Torino’s asking price is between €35m and €40m and they are likely to ask for the higher end of their valuation after the Serie A club’s president Urbano Cairo assured fans this week that he wants to keep the Dutchman in Italy.
