Carlos Corberán to Middlesbrough looking unlikely – Manager changes working

November 11, 2025

A move to Middlesbrough is looking unlikely for Valencia manager Carlos Corberán. That’s because he may have ‘found the right formula’ at the Spanish club.

Super Deporte cover him today and how he’s introduced a series of positional and role changes to the team this past weekend. That saw them ‘more intense and committed’ than they had been previously.

The newspaper explains that Corberán ‘changed the face of a team’ that had been struggling under him of late. The plan now is to consolidate that improvement over the international break.

His changes saw Valencia regain their ‘competitive edge’ after a period of poor results and ‘even worse feelings’. It was this which had led to reports Corberán was due for the sack. And, more importantly, potentially available for Middlesbrough to hire.

Instead, he appears to have turned things around with changes that made a real difference against Real Betis. While they didn’t win, it was a positive performance that has earned him praise.

The belief is that Corberán ‘finally found the right formula’ for his team. This included a new three-man midfield, more vertical passes and ‘good dribbling’ from the team. They showed they had managed to ‘shake off’ the burden that they had been carrying for weeks.

It’s enough to have relieved the pressure on the manager and perhaps ensure a move to Middlesbrough is unlikely for the time being.

Corberán has himself insisted his mind is on Valencia, when asked about Middlesbrough reports.
