Big Southampton FC, Will Still update emerges
Southampton are hoping that their new first-team boss, Will Still, will be appointed before the weekend in time for the club’s last Premier League game against Arsenal.
It’s becoming harder and harder to see how the 32-year-old will not become the new manager/head coach of the Saints. Not long after he announced that he would be leaving French club RC Lens early in order to return to the United Kingdom, those at St Mary’s quickly pounced on the opportunity to try and snap him up.
Soon enough, talks reached an advanced stage, leaving other potential candidates like former Southampton assistant Danny Rohl in the dust and still potentially searching for a new home.
Southampton and Lens will need to work out a compensation package for Still’s staff, of which his two brothers, Edward and Nicholas, are a part of.
The boss himself is walking away from a contract with the Ligue 1 outfit that still has another two years to go on it, in order to be closer to his girlfriend, Sky Sports presenter Emma Saunders, who has suffered from health problems of late.
