Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel targets specific positions for January
Bayern Munich will undergo some changes in January.
Bayern Munich will be looking to add some players for the January transfer window and head coach Thomas Tuchel knows exactly what he wants, per Sport Bild journalist Tobi Altschäffl (as captured @iMiaSanMia):
Thomas Tuchel believes the team needs to be strengthened at right-back, center-back and defensive midfield in January, especially that Noussair Mazraoui and Kim Min-jae will be at the AFCON and the Asian Cup respectively. Tuchel and Christoph Freund are in close contact and are on the same page, both see an urgent need to act especially in defensive midfield. João Palhinha remains a topic, but internally the club’s bosses are clear that they won’t match their €65m bid again for the Portuguese midfielder.
International duty is certainly going to hit Bayern Munich hard and the club will need to bolster itself to deal with the absences of Mazraoui and Min-jae, along with any injuries that the team accrues in the coming weeks.
