Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala acknowledges that it’s pretty cool to wear the No. 10 for Germany

Jamal Musiala is a key player for both Bayern Munich and Germany. The 21-year-old has made waves since making his debut in 2020, wearing the number 42. He used to wear #14 for Germany and now uses the prestigious #10 which he thinks is cool.
“I often played with number 10 in my youth; back then, the shirt numbers were always only given out on the day of the game,” Musiala recalled (Sport Bild via @iMiaSanMia). “Sometimes I had to fight a bit for the 10. Now to see ‘10, Musiala’ at the Euros, that’s really cool. When I was a kid, Lionel Messi had the 10, Ronaldinho as well. Before them legends like Maradona or Lothar Matthäus.

“But the number will not make me think I have a special status,” the former Chelsea FC product continued. “On the contrary, it’s a challenge. I want to do it justice and will approach the games in the same way as with 14 or 42.”
