Bayern Munich prepares to fight to keep Jamal Musiala as Bild speculates demands of up to €24 million per year

June 26, 2024

How much does Bayern want to keep Musiala? How much are they willing to pay? The next year will put that to the test…

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Bayern Munich are starting to sweat over Jamal Musiala’s performances at the EUROs.

Why? Let’s take a look:

On the one hand, the bosses can be happy that Musiala is now presenting himself as a top star. On the other hand, they know that with every new top performance, the talks about a contract extension become more difficult.

Apparently, Musiala’s camp postponed contract talks until after the EUROs, likely in order to be able to justify looking for higher wages. After two goal scoring performances and an off game against Switzerland, the former Chelsea FC player reportedly believes his performances, “provide arguments that he has the ambition to rise to the category of the top earners (€20-24m/year).”

Needless to say, despite the speculated prohibitive salary demands, “a potential departure is not an acceptable scenario” at Bayern. Contract talks will definitely begin after the EUROs, with Musiala keen on seeing Bayern cobble together a side capable of winning the Champions League in order to sign a new deal. But if Bayern cannot do that? Well, it seems that Manchester City is lurking, waiting for the opportunity to strike and sign the German wonderkid. It sets a grim reminder that next year could very well be the last of Musiala in a Bayern shirt.
