Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz felled by knee injury, out for weeks

January 7, 2024

That is a stroke of bad luck for the youngster.

The injury gods are off to a rousing start for the Rückrunde with Bayern Munich.

Before the team had even played a friendly, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz was felled by a knee injury. The club released a statement via its X (Twitter) account saying that Peretz had suffered a ligament injury.

Peretz also hit Instagram to post a story thanking people for the messages of support after the news on the injury was released.

Given the Peretz news, Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich will carry the goalkeeping load for Bayern Munich for the foreseeable future — as expected. There was some thought that Peretz could get loaned out during this window, but this injury likely kills those ideas.

In other injury news, Konrad Laimer is still experiencing some issues with his knee and missed the friendly vs. FC Basel.
