Barcelona ready to cash in on winger as European clubs circle

July 12, 2026

The Swedish youngster Roony Bardghji was one of the players FC Barcelona brought in to their team to strengthen their attack last summer. However, the fact that he plays the best in the same position as Lamine Yamal made it very difficult for him to get a lot of minutes on the pitch during the last season.

Owing to this situation, the player himself asked the Blaugrana club for a departure at the end of the last season. But the last few weeks have not improved things for him, as the Catalans have brought in new offensive reinforcements, i.e., Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, although the latter’s signing is yet to be completed.

Barcelona have given the Swede full freedom to find a new club, and he can leave either on loan or on a permanent transfer. However, according to SPORT, the club prefers the latter alternative, especially as the player is in high demand, and can bring in a significant income for the Blaugranes, but they would look to keep some future rights over him.

For now, the Catalans are waiting for him to return to the club next week, and for Hansi Flick to talk with him before making a final decision about his future. The German coach will let him know that a transfer is the best way forward for him, but if he wants to stay, he can, albeit with the warning of no guaranteed minutes.

For their part, Bardghji and his entourage are looking for possible next destinations for the player, and have already found several interested parties. These include the Premier League sides Sunderland, Leeds United, Brighton, Fulham, and Aston Villa, the Italian side Juventus, and other notable European clubs like Ajax, Porto, and Marseille. Several Spanish clubs have also asked about the Swede.

While Barcelona are not looking to take Roony Bardghji on their tour of England, they are also not going to rush his departure. Still, with all the interest he is enjoying from across Europe, they remain hopeful of generating a significant profit on the player after only a year.
