Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich vying for Bruno Fernandes
Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich will reportedly look to sign Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United this summer.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Bruno Fernandes is a man in demand heading into the summer transfer window. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the Manchester United captain. However, the 29-year-old is happy at Old Trafford, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe not interested in entertaining offers for him.
Bruno Fenrandes and his skyrocketing stock
Bruno Fernandes has been one of the best players in the world since joining Manchester United from Sporting CP in January 2020. It was a protracted move for the Red Devils, who considered signing the Portuguese international in the previous summer transfer window before a move failed to materialise.
The 29-year-old has been by far the best player at Manchester United in the last four and a half years, remaining consistent amid the topsy-turvy nature of the club. That has also been the case this season, with Fernandes, who became the club captain ahead of the campaign, amassing 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
However, amid uncertainties engulfing Manchester United, the player’s future is not set in stone. Recent reports have claimed that Fernandes is open to leaving Manchester United if they put him up for sale. Such a situation has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain.
A man in demand
A recent report suggested a preposterous exchange deal between Barcelona and Manchester United involving Bruno Fernandes and Frenkie de Jong. The 29-year-old can be a solid addition to the Barcelona squad due to his vision, even though his ball-retention numbers are not impressive.
As for Bayern Munich, with Thomas Muller approaching the twilight of his career, Fernandes is a handy candidate to replace the German international. Meanwhile, PSG can transform into a world-beating squad if the Manchester United captain moves to Parc des Princes in the summer transfer window.
However, a summer move will unlikely see the light of day, with TEAMtalk claiming he is happy at Old Trafford. In addition, Sir Jim Ratcliffe does not intend to entertain any offers for the 29-year-old Portuguese international. So, Barcelona, PSG, and Bayern Munich need to look elsewhere for a creative attacker.
