Barcelona have been linked with a move for Alphonso Davies in the summer window but will now miss out on the defender as he’s signed a new deal with Bayern.

Davies has committed his future to the Bavarian giants and penned an extension that runs until 2030.

Barcelona are still thought to have prioritised signing a couple of full-backs in the summer but will need a new left-back target now.

Alejandro Balde is the club’s first choice this season but his back-up option, Gerard Martin, hasn’t always impressed – even though he’s just signed a contract extension.

Alex Valle may also come into contention after joining Como on loan. The defender spent the first half of the season with Celtic but now faces a new challenge in Italy.

The rumor mill will also likely throw up a few names between now and the summer as Hans Flick’s side consider bolstering their backline.
