Barcelona dressing room is breaking – report

December 12, 2023

After back-to-back victories against FC Porto and Atletico Madrid, it appeared Barcelona had finally put their woes behind them and were looking to start afresh.

But facing off against Girona, the Blaugranes were handed a bitter reality check, as their Catalan counterparts completely outplayed them with a 4-2 victory.

With massive repercussions on the league standings, this defeat understandably weighed heavy on players and coaches alike.

Pessimism prevailing
Now, Adrian Sanchez has come out to report that the Barcelona dressing room is in a time of crisis.

As per the information, something has broken down within the Barcelona dressing room. There is pessimism and discrepancies. Xavi Hernandez makes mistakes, but the players are not helping.

After forming a winning blueprint last season, Xavi has yet to formulate a reliable system this season. The structure implemented does not ooze assurance out of possession, while his in-game management has been suspect, with players playing out of position in the second half against Girona.

Meanwhile, the players do not seem to be helping either, as inefficiency in the final third has been a recurring theme since the start of the season.

Barcelona have created the most chances in La Liga this season, yet also have the most big chances missed

Barça currently sits in fourth place in the league standings, trailing behind Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Girona.

As the title holders, such dismaying performances and results do not sit well with either the players or the coach.

It is in times like these that divisions between the dressing room grow and fears are starting to mount that the optimism of last season is gradually being replaced with mistrust and defeatism.

The internal feeling of doom and gloom also does not bode well for the upcoming encounters, considering there is a long road ahead.
