Barcelona board looking at two La Liga managers as possible candidates to succeed Xavi – report
Barcelona’s season has gone from bad to worse following a humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Real Madrid, in the final of the Spanish Super Cup.
The defeat leaves Barcelona with one less competition to fight for. With the club already reeling in La Liga, UCL and Copa Del Rey appear to be the only viable competitions for Barça.
The club’s poor form, meanwhile, has also put pressure on coach Xavi Hernandez, even though the Spaniard is confident about having the backing of the board.
Michel & Alguacil: Potential replacements for Xavi
A recent report from Adrian Sanchez has revealed a series of details regarding Xavi’s current standing on the Barcelona board.
Although the president and the sporting director, along with the rest of the hierarchy continue to back the Spaniard, there are certain people within the Barcelona board that do not want Xavi to remain as the coach.
As per Sanchez, some people on the Barcelona board want either Imanol Alguacil or Michel to take over as Barcelona coach if Xavi leaves.
