ANTHONY Gordon is starting up-front for Newcastle United at Aston Villa, as was expected to be the case.
In the absence of Alexander Isak, Gordon leads the line for the Magpies and will be supported by Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes. Jacob Murphy is on the bench.
Elanga is the only new signing to start, with Malick Thiaw and Aaron Ramsdale both on the bench.
Nick Pope is in goal, with Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Dan Burn and Tino Livramento starting in defence. Lewis Hall is a substitute having not played much football in pre-season because of injury. Sandro Tonali, Joelinton and Bruno will play in midfield.
