Alan Myers drops Everton transfer update as three clubs want to sign Ellis Simms
Alan Myers has shared an update as Everton striker Ellis Simms is wanted by three different clubs in this summer transfer window.
According to the Sky Sports journalist, Kevin Thelwell will be making the decision on his future after they have expressed interest in signing the 22-year-old.
Thus far, no bid has been accepted but a decision is expected to be made by the Director of Football in the coming days.
Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “DOF will make it.”
Simms was recalled from his loan spell in January with the club failing to get a new striker over the line for Sean Dyche.
While he did not come to Goodison Park and make the number nine berth his own, he did have a few moments of brilliance.
His goal against Chelsea is fondly going to be remembered by Everton fans but it’s evident that he does not fit into Dyche’s style of play.
The Toffees manager likes tall and strong strikers who want the ball played at their feet and then they can help bring others into the game.
If there is a market for Simms, the chances of him leaving permanently increase, and that seems to be the case right now.
They’re already leading the race to sign Beto so Simms’ exit could see them quickly getting this deal over the line.
