After Mbeumo – Man United are now ‘close’ to fee agreement to sign center forward – Report

Manchester United have lured Matheus Cunha and Byran Mbeumo to improve the offense as they only managed to score forty four goals in the Premier League last term.

However, the Red Devils are not stopping and want to further strengthen the department by signing a quality center forward.

Yesterday, we covered a story from Portugal stating that the Man United are ready to hijack Arsenal’s deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP by offering even more than the Gunners.

As per today’s edition of O Jogo, the Red Devils are advancing to hire the Swedish center forward.

The Porto based media outlet have mentioned that Man United are getting ‘close’ to reaching a fee ‘agreement’ with Sporting to secure the signing of Gyokeres.

Arsenal are currently on tour of Asia and Mikel Arteta was specifically asked about the transfer of the 27-year-old striker. The Spanish manager responded:

“I can’t comment on any player who isn’t yet part of our squad. When we have something concrete to say about any player, we will.”

However, the 43-year-old confirmed that the the north London side are still looking to improve the quality and depth of the squad.

Gyokeres single handedly scored ten more goals (in all competitions) than the entire Manchester United squad managed in the Premier League.

On the other hand, Arsenal badly missed a clinical striker up front ended up losing the title race to Liverpool.
