Aaron Wan-Bissaka played a crucial role in West Ham United’s 2-1 win over his former employers Manchester United on Sunday (27 October).
Jacob Steinberg wrote for the Guardian (28 October) that Wan-Bissaka won the battle with his Old Trafford successor Noussair Mazraoui as the Hammers edged the visitors late on at the London Stadium.
Wan-Bissaka signed for the club in August for £15million [David Ornstein, 10 August], which opened the door for Manchester United to finalise a deal for previous Irons target Mazraoui.
Steinberg said: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka looked as if he had a point to prove.
“The right-back has had an intriguing role for West Ham this season – Wan-Bissaka has inverted and he was irrepressible against United.
