‘MORE TO COME,’ HASSAN IS SMILES BETTER

HAISSEM HASSAN is smiles better since his £9million move to Celtic from La Liga outfit Real Oviedo.

The Egyptian World Cup winger has started the champions’ last two games – wins over Aberdeen (3-0) and St Mirren (2-1) – and is poised to take the No.7 berth against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park tomorrow night.

Hassan has already proved to be a crowd-pleaser with his tricks and flicks, but Martin O’Neill insists the new Bhoy will get even better as he settles in at Parkhead and gets to know the strengths and expectation levels of his team-mates.

The Hoops boss, speaking to the Scottish Sun, said: “He is certainly entertaining. He’s going past players. It’s great, though, and I’m sure the crowd will love it.

“We’ve all got flaws, but there’s no doubt Hassan can go past people in the final third.”

The 24-year-old flanker was on the champions’ radar even BEFORE his sparkling performances for his country in the global showpiece in the summer.

Hassan played a major role in Egypt leading the-then world champions Argentina 2-0 until the 79th minute before Lionel Messi and Co came back to triumph 3-2 in a remarkable encounter.

However, those exploits are in the past as the cavalier forward now focuses on taking care of business at home and abroad for O’Neill’s men.
