Bayern Munich’s goalkeepers have incredible chemistry
The FC Bayern goalkeeper room is tight.
Goalkeepers are often viewed as rivals even with a team’s roster.
There is only one starting spot, meaning competition is naturally built into the position. But at Bayern Munich, the relationship between Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig and Sven Ulreich appears to be something much more positive.
Urbig recently explained where that togetherness comes from.
“Each of us feels that we are needed. When Manu was injured in the second half of the season and I had a concussion, Ulle played against Leverkusen as if he had been in goal every weekend for three years straight. The chemistry between Manu, Ulle and me is simply excellent. Our goalkeeping coach, Michael Rechner, also deserves a lot of credit for that,” Urbig told Säbener 51.
That says a lot about the culture within Bayern Munich’s goalkeeping department.
