DFB could face complex negotiations with Red Bull over Klopp appointment
With reports suggesting that Julian Nagelsmann has decided to resign as Germany coach, the path appears to be opening for Jürgen Klopp to finally take over a role he has long been linked with.
However, one major obstacle remains: the 59-year-old former Liverpool manager is contracted to Red Bull as Head of Global Soccer until 2029.
Klopp is said to have an exit clause that would allow him to become Germany coach if approached by the DFB.
But according to Bild, the clause is not formally written into his contract and was only agreed verbally.
The tabloid also reports that Red Bull would demand a single-digit million-euro compensation fee. Should the DFB agree to pay it, it would mark the first time the association has ever paid a transfer fee for a coach.
