Barcelona midfield star back in group training following five-month injury absence
There are moments in a long season that feel bigger than three points. They arrive quietly, often away from the spotlight of matchday. Friday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva was one of those moments for FC Barcelona.
Training resumed as usual, but the mood shifted the instant one familiar figure stepped back into the circle.
After nearly five months on the sidelines, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Gavi took part in part of the first-team session for the first time since undergoing knee surgery in September.
The midfielder, who suffered an internal meniscus injury in his right knee and required arthroscopic intervention, is now entering the final phase of his rehabilitation.
The club confirmed his reintegration into partial group training, sharing footage of his teammates welcoming him back with the customary tunnel of slaps, a ritual reserved for players returning from significant absences. It was lighthearted, but meaningful. Gavi’s absence has been anything but small.
