Dynamic Dutchman with Champions League pedigree – West Ham linked in surprise report

November 11, 2025

West Ham United are once again being linked with a move for Quinten Timber, with reports from Fichajes claiming the Feyenoord midfielder could be available for around €20 million (£17.5m) in January.

The 24-year-old Dutchman — brother of Arsenal’s Jurriën Timber — is out of contract in 2026, and Feyenoord may be forced to cash in this winter rather than risk losing him for a reduced fee down the line.

It’s not the first time West Ham have been connected with Timber. The Hammers were heavily linked in the summer, with then head coach Graham Potter reportedly keen on the player before the club opted for Potters first choice Mateus Fernandes instead.

Fernandes has made a bright start to life at the London Stadium and was West Ham’s standout performer in the recent win over Burnley, which makes this ‘report’ all the more surprising. However, Timber offers a very different profile — more of a dynamic box-to-box operator with strong passing range and positional versatility.

‘Quinten Timber reports’ seem unlikely now West Ham have Fernandes
That said, some scepticism remains. Timber has struggled with injuries over his career, and it’s unclear whether this fresh link is genuine or simply a recycled rumour from the summer.

Still, there’s no denying Timber’s quality. On his day, he’s an elegant, high-intensity versatile player with Champions League pedigree and an eye for goal. And with Feyenoord under pressure to sell, West Ham might be interested but I suspect Jorge Mendes and Nuno Espirito Santo will look elsewhere.
