What’s next on Barcelona’s summer ‘to do’ list?

June 28, 2025

There’s never a dull moment at Barcelona it seems, with this summer beginning to shape up as yet another busy period for the Catalans.

In just over a fortnight – on the day of the Club World Cup final in fact – the players will return for pre-season medical tests, with training on the pitches at the Ciutat Esportiva to begin on July 13.

In the meantime, there’s plenty to be getting on with.

Ansu Fati finally arrived in Monaco to complete his loan deal with the Ligue 1 club, whilst Joan Laporta has said that Frenkie de Jong’s renewal is “on the right track.”

So.. what’s next?

Sealing the Nico Williams deal would appear to be of the upmost importance, and having the 22-year-old at the club from the get go of the 2025/26 season will be of obvious benefit, rather than having to wait for a protracted transfer saga to play out.

In order not to have too much disruption in the dressing room, a cosy chat with Marc-Andre ter Stegen might well be the next item on the agenda too.

The German is showing no signs of softening his stance and intends to stay, despite a number of European clubs looking to explore their options as far as the custodian is concerned.
