Key figures of Ansu Fati’s loan move to Monaco – wage share, buy clause and salary space saved

June 28, 2025

Ansu Fati is now set to become an AS Monaco player, with the official announcement of the loan deal expected to arrive soon.

Barcelona and Monaco reached a definitive agreement earlier this week, following which contracts were drafted and the player completed his medical on Friday.

Now, according to SPORT, the operation was not finalised in time for an official announcement on Friday, and as such it is now expected to take place on Monday.

The move allows Barcelona to make significant savings on wages and opens the door for a permanent departure in 2026.

Key figures of the deal
Barcelona’s priority was to offload the full €12 million gross salary that Ansu was set to receive this season.

Monaco, benefiting from favourable tax conditions, submitted a solid offer which improved over time, but Barça will still cover part of the player’s salary.
