Vincent Kompany ready for shorthanded Bayern Munich to face rugged St. Pauli side
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany is not going to let St. Pauli sneak up on him. The coach spent all week prepping to face what he thinks will be a tough, defensive squad.
“I spent my week watching St. Pauli. They’re a team that concedes very few goals. They’re dangerous in front of goal, even though they haven’t scored that many goals. They often get into the box and have a lot of energy. They can also press. The important thing is that we go in with respect and have complete confidence in ourselves. We want to give our best performance. The motivation is definitely there for this game,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
One of the hot topics to deal with for Kompany this week is injuries. With Manuel Neuer, Dayot Upamecano, and Alphonso Davies all lost to injury during the international break, the coach knows other players will have to step up for the three missing starters.
