Marcus Rashford latest: European giants ’emerge’ as contenders while surprise team ‘join the race’

January 5, 2025

AC Milan are reportedly considering a loan move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
The England international is currently out of favour under Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim and is free to leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window, with a number of clubs linked with his services.

Rashford is believed to have rejected three lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League, with the 27-year-old said to be determined to continue his career in European football.

Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Napoli are among the European clubs to be linked with the Red Devils academy product, but it is understood that Man United have not received a European offer during the winter market.

According to the Daily Mail, Milan are the latest clubs to express an interest, with the Italian giants considering making an offer to loan the Red Devils academy product for the remainder of the season.

Milan ‘considering loan move for Rashford’
The report claims that Man United would ideally like to sell Rashford this month for a fee in the region of £40m but are likely to have to accept a loan exit due to the size of the forward’s wages.

Rashford collects in excess of £300,000 a week at Old Trafford, and there are very few clubs in European football that would be prepared to pay him anywhere near that amount.

The forward is Man United’s joint-second highest goalscorer this season with seven goals, but he is currently being overlooked by Red Devils head coach Amorim due to his poor form in training and general demeanour around Carrington.

Rashford has not featured in the Premier League since December 7, and he expressed a desire to seek “a new challenge” during an interview with journalist Henry Winter.
