Atalanta Legend Criticizes Real Madrid’s ‘Fundamental Error’ Signing Mbappe: ‘I Hope He Suffers’

During an interview with AS on the eve of the two teams facing one another in the Champions League, Atalanta legend Josip Ilicic criticized a “fundamental error” he believes Real Madrid made when signing Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe joined Los Blancos on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer after letting his contract expire at the Parc des Princes.
Though in an interview of his own broadcast on Sunday night in France, the forward revealed that he could have easily renewed in his country’s capital on one condition.
The 25-year-old also insisted he will prove a success at the Bernabeu, as his struggles have been evident for all to see so far in 2024/2025 despite him getting on the scoresheet twice in Madrid’s last three outings.
