Bayern Munich is firmly out of the race for Xavi Simons, is all in on Désiré Doué
Hopefully they have better luck going all in than I do in Vegas
Bayern Munich’s goal of signing both Paris Saint Germain’s Xavi Simons and Stade Rennais’ Désiré Doué seems dead in the water, as Simons has turned down moving to the Bavarians and decided to stay at Lawnballsport Leipzig. Why? According to kicker, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, he thinks it is better for his development:
Xavi Simons has decided to stay in Leipzig in order to continue the big steps he made in his personal development as a regular starter under Marco Rose. Leipzig would not be able to afford an option to buy and only want a straight loan from PSG.
Per Florian Plettenberg and Philipp Hinze, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, everybody involved has been informed of this development:
Xavi Simons has decided to stay in Leipzig. Move to Bayern won’t take place. All parties involved have now been informed. Therefore, Max Eberl is trying to sign Désiré Doué.
If Simons does move to Leipzig for a straight one year loan, it would stand to reason that Bayern could go after Simons again in 2025. Would he want the Bavarian giants on a permanent move after already rejecting them once? Would Bayern swallow their pride or pass up on Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz to get the former PSV player? Will the earth be sucked into a black hole before the year 2025 will come around? We will have to see.
