Cancelo Reportely Unlikely to Move to Inter or Juventus

Joao Cancelo is back at Manchester City following a loan spell at Barcelona and has been linked with a return to Serie A, at Inter or Juventus. However, his priority is to go back to Catalunya. The two Serie A sides were offered his services by his agent Jorge Mendes. The talks didn’t have legs.

The Blaugrana are trying to sign the fullback temporarily again, perhaps adding an option or a conditioned obligation to buy. At this stage, the Premier League champions seek a permanent sale and want €20M.

Inter were attached to Cancelo as the future of Denzel Dumfries hangs in the balance, while Juventus were in the market for a fullback before signing Juan Cabal. The Old Lady seemed more interested. The player has put other destinations on hold to see whether he could return to Spain. In addition, his wages would be problematic for the two Italian powerhouses.

The Nerazzurri haven’t been actively looking for a right wing-back as of late because the negotiation with the Dutchman is progressing. The 28-year-old is on the verge of accepting the team’s offer, Il Giornale informs. His wages would grow from €2.5M to €4M annually.
