Jude Bellingham admits Kylian Mbappe transfer would take Real Madrid ‘to another level’
Jude Bellingham admitted the arrival of Kylian Mbappe would take Real Madrid “to another level” after the club secured a record-extending 15th Champions League title.
Los Blancos rode their luck before striking twice in the second half to beat Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, with Bellingham setting up Vinicius Junior to all but guarantee victory over the Bundesliga outfit.
Mbappe, whose Paris Saint-Germain side fell to Dortmund in the semi-finals, is widely expected to join Madrid’s already extraordinary squad this summer, having confirmed his exit from the French giants.
Speaking post-match with TNT Sports, Bellingham said: “We don’t know for sure if that will happen!
“If that was to happen, it would be amazing. A player like him, it’s the only little thing that maybe we’re missing in terms of that clinical nine. If he was to come and give us that, we’d be in a really great place and he would take us to another level.
“He’s one of the best players in the world, clearly.”
Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has largely employed a 4-3-1-2 formation this season with Bellingham playing behind Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in attack. While the two Brazilians registered 15 and ten La Liga goals respectively in 2023/24, those numbers pale in comparison to Mbappe.
The France captain struck the back of the net 27 times in Ligue 1 during his final campaign at Parc des Princes and scored eight more in the Champions League before going missing against Dortmund.
Mbappe has already revealed his next club will be confirmed soon, having not named Madrid as his preferred destination throughout the transfer saga.
Should the move go through, the former Monaco attacker will join an illustrious lineup at the Bernabeu which already includes Bellingham, Vinicius and Rodrygo, while Brazilian wonderkid Endrick will also be at Ancelotti’s disposal next season.
