Barcelona €50 million-rated attacker ‘tired’ of Xavi’s substitution treatment
As uncertainty continues to loom over the future of Xavi Hernandez, an increasing set of players are starting to voice their complaints over the management of the Barcelona coach, although not publically.
It was reported yesterday that star striker Robert Lewandowski is unhappy over Xavi substituting him in four of the last five matches, as part of his plan to ‘rejig’ the attacking unit ahead of the new season.
Raphinha displeased with Xavi
Now, Diario SPORT reports that even Raphinha is not too happy with the way Xavi has utilised his services.
The Brazilian international is particularly unhappy with the way he always becomes the first player to be subbed in almost every Barcelona match.
Raphinha’s concerns are warranted given the fact that the former Leeds United has been one of Barcelona’s best attackers in the past couple of months.
Raphinha has indeed looked quite dangerous in the final third and was the difference-maker in many of Barcelona’s Champions League matches, notably starring in the win over Napoli.
The sequence of Raphinha’s substitutions was prevalent the moment he joined Barcelona, despite the fact that it was Xavi who convinced him to move to Camp Nou.
Not the only one
Raphinha is not the only first-team player unhappy with Xavi’s management in recent weeks.
Lewandowski, as mentioned earlier, had his fair share of tiffs with the Barcelona manager. The report suggests that even Joao Felix is not entirely happy with the way he is being utilised.
In addition to these players, Xavi has also had a role to play in Vitor Roque’s slow transition to life in Catalonia. So much so that the Brazilian youngster is currently on the verge of leaving Blaugrana in the coming summer.
