PSG Striker Set to Shine: Journalist Predicts Boost Following Superstar’s Looming Move to Real Madrid

May 4, 2024

Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer when his contract expires in late June. Many expect the Frenchman to join Real Madrid as a free agent, and while there’s an assumption that PSG will pursue a forward to replace the player’s production.

Over the last few months, the Parisians have been rumored to be interested in strikers like Victor Osimhen. However, one journalist believes that the capital club already have Mbappé’s replacement on their squad when the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner leaves for Real Madrid.

“I think that Gonçalo Ramos is realizing that Enrique will trust him next season and that he will gain a lot of playing time with the departure of Mbappé,” Le Parisien journalist Laurent Perrin wrote (h/t Le10Sport).

“And I also believe that he understood that Kolo Muani was no longer a competitor for him. We will have to closely follow the Parisian transfer window but I think that Ramos can become PSG’s number one striker next year.”

Ramos has made 36 appearances while scoring 14 goals and recording two assists this season despite playing limited minutes. It will be interesting to see if the Portugal international does have the opportunity to be Mbappé’s replacement next season.

Counting on the 22-year-old rather than spending big money on a goal-scorer will allow PSG to shift funds to improve other parts of the squad this summer.
